Winter is going to be here before we know it, with shorter days, crisp air, and plenty of snow! But for many families in our region, winter means worry. Winter coats are a necessity here in Southeastern Pennsylvania, especially for children. With average winter temperatures in the 40s and below, kids need the right outerwear to stay warm and healthy all season. But for families who are struggling financially, warm winter coats are a big expense.
At Lauro Painting, we strongly believe in serving our community. Our neighbors are some of the very families who are concerned about being able to afford coats for their kids, and we want to take that worry off their minds. That’s why we’re teaming up with the Ambler YMCA to collect brand new coats for local kids. We hope you’ll help us collect all the coats we could possibly need! In fact, if you donate a new coat, Lauro Painting will give you a great discount on your upcoming painting project! As an added bonus, we are matching every donation. That means for every coat we collect, Lauro Painting will donate an additional coat!
The Gift of a Warm Winter Coat
Our region, spanning the Montgomery and Bucks County line, is abundantly generous year-round. Many charities are specifically designed to serve children, and our team at Lauro Painting is always looking for opportunities to support those causes. We are local families as well, and it’s important to our entire crew that we help our neighbors when they are in need. This year, we are pleased to headline the Ambler YMCA’s annual Coats for Kids Collection. This initiative seeks to collect hundreds of coats for area children who might not have something warm to wear this winter.
“When I found out that the YMCA was looking for a new partner for their Coats for Kids Collection, I knew that was something our whole crew would be excited to promote,” said Nick Lauro, President of Lauro Painting. “We do a lot of community service, but when it comes to kids, we really have a heart for making sure they have the right resources to simply enjoy their childhood. Kids shouldn’t have to worry about things like having a winter coat, so we’re going to make sure they don’t.”
Community members are encouraged to deliver brand new coats in any size (including adult sizes for taller kids!) to the Ambler YMCA or to the Lauro Painting main office at 809 N. Bethlehem Pike, Building B, Suite C in Spring House. All the coats we collect at community drop points like Lauro Painting will be delivered to the Ambler YMCA by Wednesday, November 26th. This will ensure that area families receive coats for their children in plenty of time for the winter season. We will continue collecting coats all winter long, as well!
